There is no doubt that Americans have the worst diets in the world. While most consumers believe it’s because of our penchant for relying on processed foods and fast food chains, that’s only the very beginning of what has gone wrong in this nation with plenty of green earth to farm. GMO Probably Tops the List

Without going into all the details of just what genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are or what they are intended to accomplish, it is sufficient to say that they are primarily focused on modifying plants so that they are pest resistant while producing bigger yields. The problem with this is that science is messing with the natural order. We are modifying their genetic makeup and since the science is so relatively new, there have been no verifiable long-term studies to see what kind of impact GMOs will have on the human body.

On one side of the fence, you have advocates saying that GMOs can reduce the amount of chemical pesticides and fertilizers we use, but on the other side, you have those saying that a GMO is, by its very nature, dangerous. The point being made here is that there is little evidence of what our interference in the natural order will do to the human population over a long period of time.
